Tatting Ornaments

Here is what I did today. I wanted a tatting related ornament, that wasn't exactly tatted, so I sculpted my pup, Rebel, and a little Bat, and made them little tatting shuttles to hold. Then I made a large shuttle out of styrofoam and glittered it, (you can see the Bat's isn't quite dry yet). I tatted a little motif for each and attached it. Now, I have my pup tatting ornament and a little Bat tatter. I just love them. What do you think?
I am thinking of making some more to sell. But without Rebel, maybe a kitten or a different pup? on top.

Haunted Drawing

ok, so, here is the rather sketchy drawing I did of what my Haunted house should look like. There were several thoughts besides this on the paper, but I cropped them out. It was hard to see the actual drawing there was so much writing of ideas on the paper. Gina saw this at our lunch, but I did add more written ideas later. There will be some surprises still! This is how most of my ideas start, a REALLY cruddy drawing jotted down on notebook paper. But, you can get the gist of what it will look like. That is, if I don't change something as I go. I finished tatting the tree for the graveyard tonight, and I have to figure out how to stiffen it enough to hold up the limbs. I may end up having to hide some wire in them somehow. But I do like the look of the tree. I used a variegated honey brown, and it looks pretty woody. Next, I may do the bell tower...

You guessed it

ok, I have had a few good guessers. Project X is officially out of the bag... it is a Haunted house. Oh, no, another large project!!! I thought about it while making my Gingerbread house, but couldn't invision it thoroughly. Then, one day, blam, it was in my brain and had to start coming out! It will be two tiered, with the little fences around the tops of each tier. Also, if I can figure it out, there will be a bell tower with bats! I have also tatted some occupants. So far a skeleton, witch, a couple of bats, and some pumpkins. There will be more. Also, I am thinking of a spooky looking tree with an owl, tombstones, and the like. It should end up being, just the house part, 7½ inches wide, and about 10 to 12" tall. Keep checking in for updates.

Project X again

Here is a new photo of what I am doing, tat-wise. Project X as it is so far called, is coming along fine. Still, no one has guessed the correct anwer as to what it actually is, but after this photo, someone may guess correctly. I have added a little more than is in this photo, and should be posting another photo soon. I probably won't be posting tomorrow, as it is my birthday! Yeah me! (heehee)
Talk to you soon...

Leprechaun's Lunch

Hello All!
Today there was a Leprechaun's Lunch at Pepe's, a local Mexican restaurant. Gina had an art class in town today, so we decided our little Leps should have a playdate. They were so pleased to meet each other! They were quite happy that they looked so similar, too. Cormac was a little cutie, and Conor told me later, that he loved hanging out with his little Irish cousin.
As you can see, they did some "salsa" dancing together, and then hang out and had some nachos.
The Leps had their fun, and so did Gina and I. We talked about tatting, I did let her in on what my secret Project X is, (dun dun duuuun). We also talked about other things and had a very nice lunch!
Here is a picture of Gina and myself, with the Leps in the center... see them?, and, as usual, I have my eyes closed! Thanks for the nice little getaway, Gina and Cormac, we will have to do it again soon.

No new picture to show yet, but I have started the second tier of my Project X today. It seems the second tier won't take very long, so I should have another photo soon. I have been tatting some other details for it, but if I showed you, you would guess what it is right away! Sooooo, you must now wait and see...
I have also decided to try to make up some new patterns. Perhaps sell a collection on Etsy or Ebay, or directly from home. They would be in pdf format. I would have to take Paypal or personal checks only. What do you think? Of the three,(Etsy, ebay, home email) which do you all prefer? I will go with the majority. Ok, let's hear it.
