Fair Results 2026!

The Fair results are in! And I must say I am overjoyed with how I did! Since is a bit hard to see some of the items, I will post better pictures when I get my things back from the Fair. Since most people here, are here for the tatting... we will go with those results first. First of all we have my 3-D tatted Absolem. ( he has the caterpillar from Alice in Wonderland) He won Judge's choice, Sweepstakes, and first place!!

Next, we have my tatted bat necklace with beads... A sweepstakes and, I assume a first place, but I don't see a blue ribbon attached to it. I've never heard of someone winning sweepstakes and not getting a first place so.... maybe they ran out?

Since there aren't many categories in which you can enter tatting... that's all I have for tatting. So now I will show the big guns! This is a sculpture that I made from oven baked clay, and vintage fabrics… Etc.. I call him Victor Virtuoso. I was absolutely flabbergasted to see he won Best of Show, Judge's choice, Sweepstakes and first! You can't win any more prizes than that on an entry! Absolutely gobsmacked and glorious happy!

And here is my Beetlejuice flower arrangement. I hand painted his face onto a dog treat canister, Then I added all the flowers and tulle. There are a couple of little beetles in there too! He also won a sweepstakes and first prize.

and speaking of Beetlejuice.... I crocheted this sandworm bracelet and it won a first prize. I had decided that I wanted a sandworm bracelet, so I created an image on an AI site, and then I just crocheted it from scratch.

Sandworms were sort of a theme... so I also hand-painted the shoes with those images. I had seen a pair online that were $80, and I just cannot pay that much for shoes, so I painted my own. They won second prize!

In the crochet category... in this photo there is my sea dragon, and my bat purse. I absolutely love my sea dragon, as I created her from scratch. Her name is Sandrine, by the way. first prize for her and second prize for the purse. There is also an extra picture of her because you can't really see what she looks like.

Hope you're not bored yet! I know it's a lot, because I had 26 entries! So next we have my gingerbread Nutcracker, who won first prize, and my handmade Halloween bat pedestal, that also won first prize. The bat pedestal was made with a dollar store pumpkin and wooden pedestal. I added extra papier-mâché details to the pumpkin to hide the fact that it was a pumpkin, I made it into a bat. And I painted all the Halloween images on the black pedestal. I do love how it turned out.

I crocheted this item, but I wasn't sure I could even enter it because he was so big... is Giles the Cassowary.They chose to make him sit down.haha. Standing up he is tiny bit more than 2 feet tall. He won a first prize.

In the household category... I crocheted '45 record coasters, and the little box that they go into that looks like a record player. It won second prize. I have shown the picture of it that I took at home, because the picture I took at the fair did not turn out.

Next we have fine arts... I normally do not enter this category, but I thought, what the heck. First we have my first Place winner... snowy fox.

Next we have a sketch drawing I did of my dearly departed Rebel... he won second prize.

oh I forgot another crocheted item. In the hat category I made a "Mr. Heat Miser" hat. Second prize.

In the spring/Easter category I made this adorable Easter basket… Though it did not win anything.

and in the up-cycled recycled category, I painted this vintage oil pan to look like a Halloween decoration. It also did not win.

so the rest of the items for which I won prizes were antiques. I didn't have anything to do with their manufacturing or decoration... and I don't normally win in that category, but I had some winners. And here they are. First... I cannot believe I actually won a sweepstakes and first prize with this pair of cufflinks. They are quite cool though, as they have mother of pearl and medical caduceus on them.

I also won second place prize in all of these categories... Coin bank, 50s 60s memorabilia (that is a wooden nickel with the Beatles on it), vintage postcard.

Whew! Thanks for staying until the end! As you can see, I'm so very lucky, happy, proud, that I have won so many awesome ribbons! Hope you enjoyed looking!
