Fair…in the works

As many of you know, I always enter the County Fair every year. As there has always been a tatting category, I have always tried to enter something interesting and/or unique. This year, I was at a loss for such a long time. I couldn't figure out what I wanted to make. Then, one day, an image of Absolem, the caterpillar from Alice in Wonderland, popped into my head. As you may not know, every single time something has popped into my head like this I HAVE to make it. And here he is so far. I never think to take pictures when I first begin. I work on him after supper in the evening, so, the first picture is the second evening, and the second and third pictures are the third evening.

The tatting part of Absolem is completed, but I think I may add a little bit of shading (I use eyeshadow for this)to parts of him to make him more lifelike. I have also finished his hookah, and have begun on his mushroom that he will sit upon. I will also make some pillows, for him to rest on. Of course, if they decide not to have a tatting category this year, he will go in some sort of craft category. I will return and post another photo when he is completed.
